Challenge 3 Sponsors

This month our sponsors will include Alibris, Out of Print, Thrice Read Books, Wrapped Up Writing, and HJ’s Editing Services. Here’s a little information about each:

In 1997, Marty Manley was on the hunt for an out-of-print book authored by a friend, who suggested he use Interloc. The web-connected database allowed professional book sellers to match their inventory with the wants of others. With Richard Weatherford, the creator of Interloc, they designed a new company to utilize new technology and bring it to the world of online book selling. That company was Alibris.

By partnering with independent booksellers, Alibris allows businesses of all sizes to sell antique, out-of-print and otherwise hard to find used books to people all over the world. Today they have over 180 million pieces of books, music and movies in a marketplace made of thousands of independent sellers based around the world.

We strive to bring the best experience to our customers, sellers, and partners as possible, including giving back to the community, supporting green initiatives and making a positive change in the world.

Alibris’ business includes working with libraries to build their collections. No matter if you’re looking for textbooks, music, movies, or rare books, you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for in our expansive marketplace.

As the landscape of how we read and experience literature continues to change, Out of Print is dedicated to celebrating our favorite stories while promoting literacy in underserved communities.

Each purchase helps to fund literacy programs and book donations to communities in need. It also supports the authors, publishers and artists who made these iconic works an integral part of our lives.

Thrice Read Books is a small, family run online bookstore featuring used books, and new books by indie authors and small publishing houses.

Thrice Read Books was founded on the principal that stores are meant to be shared, and we began our operation using our own large, personal collection that was collecting dust on our shelves.

Since our inception in 2018, we have grown our offerings to an inventory of hundreds of books, and are constantly growing our collection.

We welcome you to our library, and share our thoughts on the stories we read personally in our blog pages.

Not only does Thrice Read Books, sell new and used books, they also offer promotion packages to indie published authors. Check out their website for more information.

Here at Wrapped Up Writing, I am continuously striving to do three main things: Edit. Educate. Encourage. I diligently and thoroughly edit and proofread manuscripts in a way that eliminates errors, improves readability, and maintains the author’s unique style and voice. I educate others on writing techniques and style guidelines through one-on-one consultations, workshops, blog posts, and more. I try to encourage everyone I interact with to constantly pursue their dreams and achieve their goals.

As founder of HJ’s Editing Services, I provide all levels of editing with accuracy, agility, and acuity. I care for each manuscript as if it were my own. I will not sugarcoat the truth, nor will I cut corners to save time. I thrive on digging in and dirtying up my hands. As one client said, “If you want someone to tell you how good your writing is, don’t look here. But if you want honest feedback and great critical editing, Heather is your editor.”
